I guess at some point I will need to rename this series. From the beginning I meant for this to be a place to show off all the things that had inspired me visually during the week. Since I have several art and design blogs in my daily RSS rotation it is only natural that sometimes I find inspiration in things that are not photographic. That is the case this week. I present to you two sets of photographs and two sets of drawings that caught my eye this week.
First up are some great portraits from photographer Piet Flour from Bruges, Belgium.

See all the images on the Professional Photography Blog.
Next is a rather large series of images from several photographers documenting the celebration of Rosh Hashanah—the Jewish new year—in the Ukrainian city of Uman. Hasidim from all over the world come to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at the burial site Rebbe Nachman the spiritual founder of Hasidism.

The full photo story is available on the English Russia blog. The story could use a tighter edit as it gets a bit repetitive but the images are a good look at this growing celebration.
I love the whimsy of these paintings by Fred Calleri.
